Rate Alerts and How to Use ARS Rates
Last reviewed: October 2026
馃敂 Rate alerts
Get an email when a rate reaches the level you're waiting for. Two kinds:
- Price alert: a rate goes above or below a value you set. Example: email me when WU goes above 1,650.
- Daily change alert: a rate moves more than a percentage you set compared with the previous day. Example: email me when Blue moves more than 2%.
Alerts work for Blue, WU, Visa, Mastercard, MEP, CCL, D贸lar Cripto, Oficial and Tarjeta. One alert can watch several rates. An alert emails you once when it's met, and not again until the rate moves back past your threshold, and never more than once a day. You also choose the most alert emails you get per day (5 by default).
馃摠 Daily rate emails
Get all the rates and their 24-hour changes by email once a day, at the time you choose (Argentina time):
- Morning: 8 AM to noon
- Afternoon: 1 to 5 PM
- Evening: 7 to 11 PM
Turn them on or off in your profile. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Getting started
- Create a free account.
- Confirm your email address using the link we send you. Emails and alerts only start after you confirm.
- Set up alerts, and choose daily emails in your profile.
馃搱 Reading the rates table
- Rate names: tap or hover over any rate name for what it is and how it's calculated.
- Buy/Sell: rates with two prices show buy (what you get selling dollars) and sell (what you pay buying dollars).
- VS 24H: the change from about 24 hours earlier.
- VS BLUE: how each rate compares with Blue buy. Green means more pesos per dollar than Blue, red means fewer.
- (Est.): an estimate, shown until the real rate is out. Mastercard is estimated from Visa until it publishes around 3 PM ET. AMEX is estimated from BCRA's Mayorista rate.
- "as of" time: that rate didn't update on the latest check, so it shows when it last did.
- Updates: every 15 minutes from 7 AM to 9 PM Argentina time, and hourly overnight.
馃搷 Western Union tools
- Find a WU Location: search by address or zip code, CABA neighborhood or province, filter by the day and time you want to go, and see the nearest first. "WU branches only" shows WU's own offices, which usually have cash, and "Had cash here?" lets you report what you found.
- How to Get Pesos with WU: setup, keeping the cost down, and what to bring.
