Rate Charts and History
Daily closing rates in pesos per US dollar since 2006: the last reading of each day, Argentina time. A dashed line, or "est." in the table, marks an estimate (see below).
Pesos per 1
Buy/Sell applies to Blue, MEP, CCL and Oficial. WU, Visa, Mastercard and AMEX have one rate. Log scale shows equal percentage moves as equal heights, which helps over long periods. Pick more than one currency (e.g. USD and AUD) with "% change from start" to compare how many more pesos each currency buys. Other currencies are the US dollar rate converted at the European Central Bank's rate for each day; card and WU rates are shown in USD only.

About these numbers
- Close: the last reading of the day. Readings are every 15 minutes from 7:00 to 21:00 and hourly overnight. From November 2023 to November 2024 and from November 2025 to September 2026 there's one value per day. Before November 2024: Blue and official buy/sell (from 2011) and MEP (from October 2018) come from ArgentinaDatos; CCL (one price, from 2010) and the official sell before 2011 from a daily history we downloaded; Visa and Mastercard start in November 2023. Blank means no value that day.
- Western Union (est.): since December 2021, on days without a WU rate we show CCL buy, which WU tracks closely: within 0.2% at the median since November 2024, and within about 1% on real transfers from December 2021 to October 2023 (shown as actual values). On days when CCL jumps, WU can lag by a day, so the estimate runs high. Before December 2021 WU is blank.
- Visa (est.): the previous day's MEP sell × 0.935 (Visa has run about 6.5% below the previous day's MEP in every half-year since late 2023); Sunday and Monday keep Saturday's rate, as Visa does. Not estimated before November 2023: earlier, foreign cards were charged nearer the official rate.
- Mastercard (est.): the same day's Visa on weekdays (they match); Saturday and Sunday keep Friday's rate, as Mastercard does.
- AMEX (est.): the Central Bank's A3500 rate from two business days before, which is how AMEX converts peso charges (on real charges, the median difference was 0.05%). Days with a real charge show that rate as actual. It starts at the earliest real charge we have (August 2025): before currency controls ended in April 2025, A3500 was far below the rate foreign cards were charged, so it can't stand in for AMEX.
- A reading far off the rest of its day or week (a bad scrape) is left out. See how we get these rates for sources.
